If I ever decide to blog again… it’ll be here! Thanks Chuckie for moving me over from my old blogspot space.

Dearest Quinny-boo,

It is hard to believe that it’s been FIVE whole years since you came into our lives! You have become such a kind and respectful young boy. You never forget to say ‘Thank You’ to someone when they have done something for you or taken you somewhere special. It actually brings me to tears at how thankful/thoughtful you can be.

Some of my other favorite things about you are: you can make me smile with a silly face even when I’m really sad or mad; you are so helpful with your baby brother and really love to make him happy; you love to sing and even make up your own songs (today’s favorite… “Happy Birthday to me, I’m one hundred and three, even though I’m pretty small, I can still play with a ball!”); you learn so quickly and amaze me with your memory about things that the rest of us can’t recall; you look up to Trip so much and would follow him anywhere; you still love to snuggle; you laugh really loudly. I’m sure there are many other things I should be listing. Instead, I’ll finish up with some pictures from your special day.

your birthday breakfast

the letter Trip wrote you:

your birthday lunch (you thought it was so great that you got a candle in your sandwich, too!)

dinner at Pizza Street (your absolute favorite)

I’m not sure how you went from this:

to this:

so quickly. Even though you refuse to stay small no matter how much I beg you and/or threaten to squish you back down, I love you…. just the way you are! Happy Birthday, Ninners!

I wanted to show you how much I love my elephant you sent me. I carry it around quite a bit. It fits perfectly in my hand! Poor elephant gets his face bashed while I’m crawling, but at least Mommy can find me anywhere in the house with the squeak!

Thank you for sending me a new friend!

today after driving the last bit of our journey from celebrating my Dad’s 60th Birthday with him in N.Carolina, Chuck decided to reorganize the unfinished basement. he asked me to go through a section of boxes, but almost all of them were filled with his things. of the few boxes i decided actually belonged to me, most were college notebooks and some household papers from when we first purchased the house almost 10 years ago. i sorted thru all of the papers and only kept a few things. this is the pile I am putting in recycling:

this is the pile of things I am *not* recycling:

WHAT????? Yup… found an envelope & card from Mawmaw with A.HUNDRED.DOLLAR.BILL inside! We got married almost 10 years ago! How many times could we have used $100 over the last 10 years? Seriously, how in the world could that have been put into a box of so-called “Important Papers”?

And… I will forever remind my husband the importance of going through every item in a box… though he thinks it’s a waste of time… not so wasteful this time around! :0)

I recorded these soccer videos a couple of weeks ago for Mimi & Pawpaw. Hoping to get some better ones this Saturday.

Trip had a bum leg that Saturday (the outside of his knee was hurting & he was running funny that day, but he still played his heart out):

Quinn had a rough game that Saturday. Not sure if he was tired, or just overwhelmed by the mass of pushing kids on the field, but I caught this section where he actually had his head in the game & was going for the ball. The pace of his games are so much different than the ones in Trip’s K & 1st grade league:

Webb has found his squealing voice. It started one night when he was standing in Grandpap’s lap. They squealed together for several minutes, but by the time the video camera came out, his happy squeals turned in to irritated/tired screams. I caught some happy squeals a few days later:

We also broke out the old Johnny Jump up last week. At first, he barely moved, but now… he’s really jumping:
